Kuhlken Vineyard
The original 14-acre Kuhlken Estate Vineyard is located north of Fredericksburg along the Llano Highway in the first viticultural area designated in Texas, Bell Mountain AVA (American Viticultural Area). This section of the Texas Hill Country enjoys cooler evenings and superior soil, making it one of the most ideal locations in the state for grape growing. Responsible for preserving these natural conditions for future generations, the Kuhlken family employs ecologically sound agricultural practices that minimize impact upon the landscape. Planted in distinct blocks, varieties cultivated in the vineyard have included Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Graciano, Mourvedre, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, Teroldego, and Alicante Bouschet.
